What are your hours of operation?

The Streetsville Orthotic Clinic is open Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 8pm. However, we at SOC understand that your schedule may not be as accommodating. Appointments can be made ANYTIME outside of the regular hours of operation if necessary (including weekends and long weekend holidays).  Mobile appointments to your house or office can be arranged for your convenience. Our pedorthist on site will complete all necessary assessments to ensure our patients receive the proper treatment(s).  

Do I need a prescription to visit the Streetsville Orthotic Clinic?

No, a prescription is not necessary to visit us.  A prescription will be needed in order to dispense any custom-made foot orthotics. 

Are custom-made orthotics and medical compression covered by OHIP?

OHIP does not cover these medical products, however most extended health insurance plans will. Feel free to drop by our office with your insurance plan information and our staff can help you with any queries regarding custom-made orthotics.

What is a chiropodist?

A chiropodist is commonly referred to as a podiatric physician or a “foot doctor”, focusing the scope of practice on the lower extremities. However, a chiropodist is qualified to diagnose and prescribe prescriptions for foot orthotics. He/she also treats ingrown toenails, warts, corns, etc.

What is a pedorthist?

A pedorthist is a qualified healthcare professional specializing in the biomechanics of the lower extremities. He/she must undergo extensive training and examination in order to be able to develop the skills in assessment, design, fitting, manufacturing and modification of foot orthotics and footwear. This expertise is then effectively applied to treat common foot deformities and conditions.
